tl;drfull story

I've been writing software since 2019. Mostly TypeScript and Go, with a bit of Rust.

When I'm not writing code, I'm usually messing with my 3D printer, soldering something, or tinkering with my homelab.

I can't remember what first got me into programming, but I was messing around with HTML in 2018. I got into JavaScript in 2019, then picked up Go the year after.

Now I mostly write TypeScript and Go, with some Rust here and there. What started as a hobby became my job, and I still like doing it. These days, most of that work goes into Pandabase.

Things I learned over the years

Get the basics right. Everything else is harder when you don't understand them.
Language debates aren't worth the time. Use what you like, but give other things a try.
Keep trying new tools. You don't have to stick with all of them.
I'd rather learn how to use AI well than ignore it and hope it goes away.
Keep learning, preferably about things you actually enjoy.
The whole 1% better every day thing feels like a lot. Even 0.1% adds up to about 44% over a year. Small steps count too.
Privacy is a human right, even if you don't think you need it.
Sometimes you have to push past limits and do things people don't expect of you.
Look after yourself. Your mental health matters more than any of this.

Outside work

I bounce between hobbies a lot. One day it's the 3D printer, the next I'm soldering electronics or tinkering with my homelab. I also like travelling with my camera.
